om Gordon MP visits Knaresborough Banking Hub to welcome new operators

Tom Gordon, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, has visited the Knaresborough Banking Hub to welcome its new operator, Andrew Hart, who took over the running of the hub on Wednesday 8th July alongside his business partner Asma Ola. The pair run the hub together with their post office businesses.

The Banking Hub, located at 15 Kirkgate, just off the Market Square, provides vital face-to-face banking services for residents and businesses in Knaresborough and the surrounding villages. Run in partnership with the Post Office and Cash Access UK, the hub allows customers of all major banks and building societies to pay in cash and cheques, withdraw money, and access everyday banking services under one roof. Community bankers from a different bank are available each weekday for more complex enquiries.

Andrew and Asma will be busy talking with and listening to all existing and new customers to understand how they can streamline the Hub's services to best meet their needs.

"The Banking Hub is a lifeline for Knaresborough. As bank branches have disappeared from our high streets, hubs like this one keep essential face-to-face banking within reach for older residents, small businesses, and anyone who relies on cash.

"It was great to meet Andrew and hear his and Asma's plans for the hub. Their focus on listening to customers and shaping services around what local people actually need is exactly the right approach.

"I'd encourage everyone in Knaresborough to make use of the hub. It's just off the Market Square, round the corner on Kirkgate - the more people who use it, the stronger its future will be."

Andrew Hart, the hub's new operator, said:

The Knaresborough Banking Hub is open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, at 15 Kirkgate, Bowling Green Yard, Knaresborough, HG5 8AD.
